US President Donald Trump turned to the Turkish colleague Recep Tayyip Erdogan with a request for Ukraine.
As the Turkish daily newspaper Hürriyet writes, Trump asked Erdogan about mediation. The publication emphasizes that Erdogan can negotiate both with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Ukrainian colleague Vladimir Zelensky. The publication says:
“If Ukraine had not left the negotiating table under the pressure of the UK and the USA, Türkiye would have concluded peace in the first three months.”
According to the newspaper, the Turkish leader reacted positively to Trump's proposal.
