The pilot project in the Hagios Dionysios can pave the way for other churches, especially in tourist areas. He began to function in the Holy Catholic Cathedral of St. Dionysius of Areopagite in Kolonaki. This church is of great tourist interest. As the priest noted, many visitors, mainly tourists, persistently asked them to allow them to sacrifice without cash.
The installed POS terminal does not require the presence of personnel for use, is completely safe and can receive amounts from 1 cent to 1000 euros. Its cost amounted to 1,500 euros, and the DonationPos company established the terminal, which assures that it is impossible to hack.
Abroad, this practice is not new. In many countries, from France to Denmark, POS terminals on church benches have existed for many years. Now the Church of Greece is timid, but confidently enters the digital era, facilitating the task for those who want to put a candle or make a donation using the map.
