Audi Q5 crossovers have accumulated in the USA ports in the open air

The products of the European auto giant were stuck in American ports due to the “wild” duties of US President Donald Trump.

How tells The publication BB.lv, Audi does not produce cars from ports imported in the USA. There, cars that arrived in the country after April 2 are saving there, when the American president introduced 25 percent tariffs for all imported cars.

The publication Automotive News notes that it is not yet known how long Audi will be in the open air. Perhaps the situation will become clear on Monday, after the meeting of automakers with the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Lyain. Audi sent a letter to the dealers, which states that the company pauses all deliveries from April 2 to further notification.

In warehouses in the United States, approximately 37 thousand Audi cars are currently stored. According to dealers, this is also enough for two months if the sales will go at the same pace.

Auto -manufacturers have not yet developed long -term plans in response to duties. Mercedes-Benz, unlike Audi, decided not to retain supplies. Despite the already difficult financial situation, the company will temporarily cover the duties itself, without raising prices for Americans.

A similar decision was made by BMW. Volkswagen and Jaguar Land Rover suspended the shipment of cars, and Stellantis even had to temporarily close two plants in Canada and Mexico.
