11 tons of expired and spoiled meat were seized from the pre -passerful markets


Fraudsters intended to sell “pre -holiday trading” of the pre -holiday trade.

All overdue products – chickens, giros, donkeers, steaks and much more – were seized by inspectors of the management and veterinary policy of Attica. Its total weight was 11 tons.

Taking advantage of the increased demand for meat before Easter, the criminals intended to cash in on consumer health. The control raids of sanitary brigades prevented.

In recent weeks, Writes Newsbeast.gr, inspectors of the agricultural and veterinary policy department seized 10,390 kilograms of unsuitable meat from warehouses and public catering enterprises. This is more than the total number of confiscated this year throughout the country. Another 439 kilograms were seized at catering enterprises due to non-compliance with the shelf life and storage conditions.

The management of the seized volumes will be carried out under the supervision of the services of the Attic region, while appropriate administrative sanctions will be applied in accordance with the provisions of the law.

On Easter days, checks will take place at all enterprises that fall under the jurisdiction of regional mechanisms, including in companies selling meat, fruits, vegetables and other categories of food. As well as in supermarkets, in farm markets, in cheese shops, on poultry farms. Toy stores, gas stations, entertainment enterprises will fall under control.
