Earthquake of magnitude 7.7 points in Myanmar, tremors were felt in Thailand and China (video)

The earthquake of magnitude 7.7 occurred in Myanmar, BBC News reports, referring to the data of the US Geological Service (USGS).

The epicenter of the earthquake was 16 kilometers north-west of the city of Sagain, near the city of Mandalai (the second largest city of Myanmar).

The underground tremors were felt in China and Thailand. People are evacuated from buildings in Bangkok. Due to the underground shocks, water spills out of the pools on the roofs.

The video in social networks shows the collapse of the skyscraper under construction in the capital of Thailand during the earthquake.

A powerful earthquake occurred in Myanmar, but the tremors caused significant destruction in the capital of neighboring Thailand. In Bangkok, a 30-story unfinished building collapsed. As a result of the collapse, one person died, dozens can still remain under the rubble.

Prime Minister of Thailand Pashtongtan Chinavat announced a state of emergency in Bangkok. According to Governor Bangkok Chadchart Sitpuntant, numerous buildings are damaged in the city, but the exact scale of the destruction is still established. A state of emergency has been announced in the city.

In Myanmar, there have not been reports of significant destruction. However, AGENCE FRANCE -PRESSE (AFP) correspondents report that the National Museum was injured in the capital of the shocks – debris fell from the ceiling, and visitors ran out into the street in a panic.

The roads were covered with cracks, and one of the largest hospitals in the city is full of victims. Due to the influx of patients, doctors provide assistance right on the street, hanging the droppers to the catals.
