K. MICOCHENTIS: “We will not send the troops to Ukraine if Russia does not agree”

In confirmation of the previous publication of “Athenian News”, Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitsotakis From Paris, he clearly stated that Sending the Greek forces to Ukraine will not take placeespecially for now, Russia does not agree to the deployment of these forces.

At first he noted that “The most powerful guarantee of Ukraine’s security is the strengthening of the Armed Forces of Ukraine itself” And continued:

“A common place of today's discussions is the need to achieve a ceasefire as soon as possible. As you know, Ukraine, in principle, accepted such a proposal for the ceasefire for 30 days, which, unfortunately, Russia has not yet accepted. Consequently, all pressure at the moment should be aimed at Russia so that military attacks on Ukraine do not continue at present, especially to critical infrastructure. So that we can achieve this initial ceasefire and get more time for Ukraine to negotiate a fair and stable world. ”

The Prime Minister of Greece continued:

“In addition, the issue of security guarantees that other countries may provide to Ukraine has been discussed. The general place and position of the Greek government is that the most powerful guarantee of Ukraine’s security is the strengthening of the Armed Forces of Ukraine itself. And I believe that all countries that participated in today's conference agreed in this direction. Greece does not apply to countries ready to send troops to Ukraine as part of the “Alliance of those who wish.” And he also believes that “all this discussion can be somewhat divided and does not allow us to focus on the main one, namely how we can ensure that the war ends as soon as possible. And this can only be achieved through the initial ceasefire. ”
