China is thinking: PRC diplomats are discussing with the European Union the sending of their peacekeepers to Ukraine (video)

Chinese diplomats in Brussels “probed” the issue of joining the PRC to the “coalition of those who wish” – the unification of states that are potentially ready to send their troops to Ukraine to ensure the regime of ceasefire with the Russian Federation in case of its achievement.

About this on March 22 tells Publication Welt Am Sonntag. China’s participation, diplomats believe, can help to convince Russia to agree to the presence of foreign peacekeepers in Ukraine.

Sources in the diplomatic circles of the European Union told the publication that Beijing’s participation in this possible coalition “can potentially help the Russian Federation to agree on foreign peacekeepers in Ukraine.” The interlocutors also called this question “delicate.” Official comments on the part of the China authorities have not yet been received. A month ago, a comment on this subject was this:

The first to send their peacekeepers to Ukraine were the leaders of France and Great Britain. On March 17, the representative of Kira Starkmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, noted that the initiative has expressed a desire to join already more than 30 states:

“A significant number of countries will provide troops, and even more states will contribute in other ways.”

The Times mentioned among the potential member countries the “Coalitions of those who wish” Great Britain, France, Canada, Turkey and Australia. It is assumed that up to 30 thousand troops will be sent to Ukraine, the rest of the coalition countries will help “with weapons and logistics.”

In Berlin, discussions about the peacekeeping forces in Ukraine are considered premature. In mid -February, the Government of Germany expressed the opinion that this issue should be resolved after clarifying the issue with the conclusion of peace.

The Russian Foreign Ministry is still called “inappropriate and absurd” discussions of the possible sending of a peacekeeping contingent from NATO countries and EU To Ukraine. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Alexander Grushko said in an interview with Izvestia newspaper:

“Moscow does not care what NATO contingents can be located in Ukraine: whether the European Union, NATO or in national quality. If they appear there, this means that they are located in the conflict zone with all the consequences for these contingents, as the parties to the conflict.”
