Saloniki: The arrest of foreigners for trying to kill their compatriots

“The department for the fight against organized crime of Northern Greece was disclosed the case of an attempt to kill, which occurred on March 8, 2025 in the saloniki area.

In the evening, an operation was carried out in the evening hours yesterday and morning hours today (March 17-18, 2025) to combat crimes against life and property, with the help of the information department and special actions, within which 40-year-old and 26-year-old foreigners were discovered and arrested in moral and physical complicity, respectively.

As for the chronology of the case, in the morning hours of Saturday, March 8, 2025, a 26-year-old man, approaching his two compatriots who was at the Saloniki area, shot them at close range, as a result of which one of them was wounded. Then the shooter disappeared, sitting in a car, which was ruled by a 40-year-old man.

During the subsequent preliminary investigation, within which data and evidence from the scene were collected and used, it turned out that a specific person was the motive and purpose of the armed attack.

At the same time, the role of an accomplice of the shooter was established, who was supposed to organize an attack, provided him with a revolver and assisted before, during and after the crime.

The car was discovered during the operation and removed as a means of committing a crime. During the investigation carried out in it found and seized:

• The revolver, which was carefully hidden behind the seat of the passenger and had 5 rounds,
• Revolver like “replica” under the seat of a passenger,
• 1.1 grams of cocaine and a metal tube for its use.

Searches were carried out in the houses of those involved, where in the house of a 40-year-old man, among other things, found and seized:

• 38 rounds of various calibers and 2 sleeves,
• Packaging with an unprocessed cannabis weighing 2.77 grams,
• 2 packages with cocaine with a total weight of 13.35 grams,
• tools for using narcotic substances,
• 3 graters for unprocessed cannabis
• Two electronic scales.

Thus, he was also arrested for violating drugs and weapons. Man He was delivered to the corresponding prosecutor and transferred to the investigator, while in relation to the second, an arrest warrant was issued, according to which he was also arrested and delivered to the corresponding prosecutor. It is noted that both accused were previously held accountable for similar and other crimes. ”
