On Friday afternoon, two strong earthquakes of magnitude 4.7 and 4.3 on the Richter scale occurred off the coast of Crete.
The first earthquake occurred at about 5 pm with an epicenter of 70 km southeast of Chrysi in the Lacity Prefecture. The depth of the hearth was 25 km.
The second earthquake occurred an hour later, in the sea area, 24 km southwest of Paleokhora near Hanya in the western part of the island. The depth of its hearth was 5 km.
About injuries or material damage has not yet been reported.
It is worth noting that in the area of Santorini, an active seismic activity continues, albeit with a substantially less magnitude. However, in the area, several dozen underground shocks with a capacity of 1 to 3.8 points on the Richter scale are recorded daily.
