Romania: Prevented preparations for the coup (video)

In Romania, six people were detained on suspicion of state treason and preparation for the overthrow of the constitutional system.

As reported edition Digi24, the DIICOT Office for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism said that the detentions took place on Thursday. According to the investigation, since 2023 The suspects formed an organized group “In order to undermine the sovereignty and independence of the Romanian state, in a political way to undermine the country's defense abilities” and conducted systemic work to achieve their goals.

During the investigation, it was found that they repeatedly contacted “foreign power agents in Romania and in the Russian Federation”, for which they went to Russia several times and talked there about their plans to seize state power in Romania. The suspects intended:

• bring Romania from NATO,
• achieve the adoption of a new constitution and changes in state symbols,
• dissolve political parties,
• establish a new government from “their people”,
• Completely restart state institutions.

The group members were looking for like -minded people through social networks and distributed their contentsays the publication. One of the suspects is the 101-year-old Major General Rador Rador, a veteran of the Second World War. He also had searches.

Events take place against the backdrop of a political crisis in Romania and increasing stress before repeated presidential elections in May 2025.

Recall that in Germany they exposed the preparation of the coup with a group of persons from the Movement “Reichsburgers” – they wanted to make the country a constitutional monarchy. The so -called “citizens of the Reich” believe that the modern German republic illegitimately replaced the German Reich, which was founded in 1871 and existed under the Nazi regime until 1945. They reject the legitimacy of the modern German federal state and its laws.
