Bloomberg: "Rare elements in Ukraine are a myth"

Ukraine does not have significant reserves of minerals, which Trump mentions, The profile observer reports Bloomberg Javier Blaz.

According to him, in Ukraine there is only “scorched earth”, And information about the deposits of rare earth elements is “Illusion” and “stupidity”.

“As far as I know, in Ukraine there are no significant deposits of rare -earth metals, except for small Scandium mines. The US Geological Service, which is authority in this matter, does not indicate any reserves in the country. Like any other database usually used in a mining business, “ – writes Blaz.

He considers talking about reserves for $ 500 billion “Complete nonsense” and admits that Trump could confuse “rare earth elements” with a broader concept “Critical minerals”. Of the latter, Ukraine has Several commercial mines of Titan and Gaul, but they do not cost 500 billion stated by Trump.

Blaz recalls that in 2010 Washington also claimed that in Afghanistan there are unused mineral deposits for trillion dollars, including lithium. It turned out “Complete imagination”, and “the same applies to the alleged wealth of Ukraine.”

From the author: Nevertheless, Ukraine still has rich black -earth agricultural lands, a gas pipeline from the Russian Federation to the west and nuclear power plants. Trump, if he continues his attack on Zelensky, will knock out of it to the maximum. Moreover, there is already a conversation that it is possible to change the plan, resources will leave alone, and Ukraine will give 50% of its national income to cover the debt to the United States.
