The municipality of Athens organizes many free carnival events, from the city center to each area. From February 15 to March 3, 2025, Athens will bloom with bright colors of the carnival.
Seven municipal communities will dress in colorful outfits. The saturated program was prepared by the organization of culture, sports and youth of the municipality of Athens (οπανδα) with the support of the company for the development of computerization and operating units of the local authorities of the athens municipality (δαεμ α.ε.). The mayor of Athens Haris Dukas notes, quotes CNN GREECE:
“I invite you together to celebrate the carnival in Athens for 17 days. This year, traditions are found with everyday life, filling the squares and streets with paints, music and dancing in 50 different places with 72 unique events. From Kipseli to Party and from Parish to Kukaki, Hagios Pavlos, Platonov Academy – each part of the city becomes a place of meetings, entertainment and self -expression for young and old. We wish everyone a pleasant pastime! “

“I want to express my gratitude to municipal communities, schools, local clubs who have contributed to the organization of this wonderful holiday, and above all, to you, our fellow citizens, who make it brighter than every year with their vital strength and joy.”
