Ukraine: a new format of voluntary service 18-24 (video)

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially launched a “voluntary contract 18-24”, which offers financial stability guaranteed by the state.

The new format of military service is a voluntary initiative for Ukrainians aged 18 to 24 years, ready to join the forces of defense for 1 year. About innovation reported February 11 defense department.

The contract offers financial stability: out of the total amount of 1,000,000 UAH (at today's exchange rate 23 230 euros) 200,000 UAH are paid immediately, and the rest – during the service.

The main emphasis is on voluntary. The conclusion of the contract is a conscious choice of everyone who wants to contribute to the country's defense and get real opportunities for personal development.

Rustem Umarov, the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, noted that this is an opportunity for young people to make a conscious choice, get combat experience and financial stability in just one year. The volunteer will decide for himself: to continue the service or return to civilian life, having unique prospects. Volunteers:

• will receive monthly monetary allowance up to 120,000 UAH,
• get the opportunity to “zero” mortgages,
• will be able to receive education for state funds,
• They will be provided with free medical support, in particular, dental prosthetics,
• They will receive the right to go abroad after a year of service.

The law guarantees exemption from mobilization for 12 months after the completion of the contract. Volunteers at the age of 18-24, who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine before the new terms of the contract, can also receive a million hryvnias, said the speaker of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Dmitry Lazutkin:

“The payment of monetary rewards in the amount of one million hryvnias is provided for by those servicemen of the ordinary, sergeant and foreman, who joined the army under the age of 25, even before the new terms of the contract entered into force.”

Military personnel under the age of 25 can turn to their commanders and learn about the algorithm for receiving monetary rewards.

You can apply on the site 18-24.army.gov.ua or through the reserve+ application with the nearest update. Further – a consultation with a recruiter, concluding a contract and passing training in combat units.

Recall that at the end of November, the adviser to Vladimir Zelensky already declared the lack of meaning to reduce the mobilization age, since Ukraine does not receive timely promised weapons from partners.

As reported, the United States believes that Ukraine needs to reduce the mobilization age to 18 years. Now Ukrainians from 18 to 25 years old can conclude a contract for military service for one year.
