How California can become independent: parallels with Crimea

Bye Donald Trump scares Canada about what it could become 51 states America, the US itself may lose its richest and most solvent state(?) California!

At one time, no one believed that, thanks to the initiative “Brexit” Britain will leave European Union. New initiative “Calexit” could cause California to secede from the United States.

“California Secretary of State Shirley Weber has officially endorsed the Calexit initiative. With her permission, the authors of the initiative began collecting signatures. If supporters of this initiative can collect the required number of signatures, a question will appear on the ballot whether California should secede from the United States and become a free and independent country.”

And now just the numbers: if not less 50% registered California residents will vote and at least 55% voters will vote “yes”, this will mean a “vote of no confidence in the United States of America” and the will of the people of California to become an independent state.

Come on? It turns out that the people living in the state of California can get together and vote for their future and the future of their state, and the people in Crimeawhich, unlike California (where half of the voters are first-generation Americans and descendants of migrants), has lived on the peninsula for several generations and organized a referendum on returning to their native harbor, does not have such a right? And how then does the referendum in Crimea differ from the referendum in the state of California? Don't tell me it's different!
