A museum is robbed in the Netherlands, an ancient golden helmet is stolen (video)

Having exploded the doors of the Drenta Museum in the Netherlands, criminals abducted Romanian artifacts on Saturday January 25. Among them is the golden helmet of Kotofaneshta, dated about 450 BC.

As reported on Official website The museum, we are talking about the Geto-Dacco artifacts, which belonged to the National Historical Museum in Bucharest, and which were provided together with exhibits from other Romanian museums as part of a mobile exhibition. Toping 673 exhibits, it was supposed to end on Sunday. General Director of the Dutch Museum Harry Tupan says:

“This is a rainy day for the Drenta Museum in Assen and the National Historical Museum of Romania in Bucharest. Over the 170 years of the museum there was never such a serious incident.”

The police believe that several people who used explosives to undermine the doors were committed, the statement said. Interpol will be attracted to the investigation.

On Saturday, Romania President Klaus Johannis, who leaves the post, said that the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schooof assured him that the authorities were taking “all the necessary measures to identify the suspects and the return of artifacts.”

Among the stolen objects is the golden helmet of Kotofaneshta, dated around 450 BC, and three Dacian royal bracelets dated 50 years BC. Bracelets were first stolen in the early 1990s from the ruins of the Dacian fortresses in Romania and sold at auction in the Black Market. To date, the authorities managed to find only about a dozen of them.
