The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reports a significant expansion of digital consular services in 2025 for Ukrainians abroad.
About this, with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Sibiga, tells publication “European Truth”. The minister noted that in 2025 it will be fully operational e-Consul systemwhich will significantly simplify access to consular services. It is planned, for example, launch automated notary services in all Ukrainian diplomatic institutions abroad. He noted:
“This means that in e-Consul you can select the type of power of attorney or application required, add information if necessary, and during your visit to the consul a document ready for signing will be waiting for you. Saving time and effort.”
Within six months, services for the most popular services should also be operational in the system. The experience of receiving government services for Ukrainians abroad will be similar in simplicity and accessibility to using the Diya portal.
In February in several countries will introduce courier delivery of international passports in cooperation with Nova Poshtawhich means that applicants will only need to visit a diplomatic institution once to take biometrics.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to begin in the spring issuance of driving licenses abroad. Should be operational in the second half of 2025 comprehensive service for registering the birth of a child abroadwhich will include:
- state registration of the birth of a child (issuance of a birth certificate);
- registration of a child as a citizen of Ukraine;
- entry of the child into the Unified State Demographic Register (assignment to UZR);
- registration of the child in the State Register of Individual Taxpayers.
The minister stressed that at the same time it should become available in Ukrainian diplomatic institutions Possibility of obtaining a tax number and ID card.
In December, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a document that further simplifies consular services for Ukrainian citizens abroad. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this. On December 20, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs “On the implementation of a pilot project for the provision of certain public services and the performance of certain consular actions based on applications from persons located outside of Ukraine, which are submitted through the Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services and/or the information and communication system “e” -Consul”. Applications for services can now be submitted through the portal or the Diya mobile application.
