Syria closed its market to Russian, Israeli and Iranian goods (video)

The Syrian Ministry of Finance has banned the import of goods from Russia, Iran and Israel; products from these countries will be subject to confiscation.

About this reports Alarabiya edition. The new government of Syria introduced US dollar as the official currency and reduced customs duties by 50-60%. The publication notes that after the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime, import volumes into the country increased significantly.

Damascus markets offer goods from Saudi, Turkish and other international brands. Pepsi drinks, Twix and Snickers chocolate bars appeared on sale.

The ban on imports from the above three countries is intended to support local production and stimulate economic development. The government hopes that the measures taken will help strengthen Syrian industry and contribute to the development of the domestic market.
