The very next day after the inauguration, January 21, newly elected US President Donald Trump will begin deporting migrants, writes WSJ.
Trump plans to start with Chicago, then New York, Los Angeles, Denver and Miami. Between 100 and 200 US police officers are planned to be deployed to carry out raids next week.
Politico notes, citing sources, that for these actions Trump plans to declare a state of emergency in the US – his team is preparing the announcement. Edition BB.LV quotes:
“The Trump team is preparing to declare a state of emergency. This is a move designed to provide additional authority and resources to fulfill the incoming president's promise to secure the border and deport millions of undocumented migrants.”
According to Politico, the president-elect's team is also is preparing an executive order to abolish birthright U.S. citizenship. However, as the authors of the material indicate, the new American administration “may postpone this step due to a possible legal challenge, as well as ambiguous opinion on this issue among members of the Republican Party.”
It was previously known that Trump's team finalizes tough package on immigrationwhich will be published in the first hours after the inauguration. The measures will affect immigrants already living in the United States, as well as migrants seeking asylum at the US-Mexico border.
Raids to detain and deport migrants living in the United States without the necessary permission will begin on the first day of the new administration countries, American media report.
