The “boot” of the spouses, who stole houses in Chios, amounted to 400 thousand euros.
The Prosecution and Crime Investigation Unit has solved three significant burglaries at homes on the island in the past year. On Wednesday On January 15, a 48-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man were arrested. They accused of aggravated theftreceipt and disposal of proceeds of crime.
During the police investigation it was established that the arrested person took advantage of the trust and inattention or absence of the owners for whom she worked as a house help. In three houses she stole 571 British gold pounds, dollars and euros, jewelry and particularly valuable items.
The woman gave the stolen goods to her husbandwho either hid them or sold them for sale, writes CNN Greece. During the investigation and searches, it was discovered and confiscated part of the stolen:
- 158 British pounds in gold,
- 76,645 euros,
- 4754 US dollars,
- jewelry and very valuable things.
The total value of the stolen goods is estimated at 397,000 euros. The preliminary investigation was carried out by the Chios Criminal Investigation and Investigation Sub-Division.
