The investigation into the murder of a 23-year-old Afghan man in the center of Athens has been completed. A 35-year-old compatriot of the murdered man, who is wanted, has been identified.
A criminal case has been opened against an Afghan man who is wanted on charges of premeditated murder. In particular, on the morning of July 11, 2024, the young man was taken to the hospital with injuries, the cause of which was stated to be a fall from a motorcycle. He died on July 21.
As a forensic examination showed, the victim's death was caused by a head injury received from being hit by an object. The North-East Attica Criminal Investigation Department has taken over the preliminary investigation into the incident.
In the course of the investigation, in which forensic evidence and preliminary data were assessed and used, it was established that a 35-year-old man, in the early morning hours of July 11, 2024 in the center of Athens, during a meeting with a compatriot, due to personal differences, attacked him serious head injuries using a heavy object, which led to the latter's death. The criminal case was transferred to the prosecutor's office.
