At the hospital “Ag. Sofia” elevator with doctor fell down

Another elevator fall, this time it happened at the Ag. Children's Hospital. Sofia”. Fortunately, the doctor inside the structure was not injured.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, January 15, when traffic was light and only a doctor was in the elevator. General Director of ΟΕΝΓΕ Panagiotis Papanikolaou reported:

“A new serious incident with a hospital elevator early this morning at the Agia Sofia Children's Hospital. Fortunately, the passenger (the doctor on duty) was not injured. The hospital administration has been resisting from the very beginning in order to cover up the incident using various methods.”

It is worth recalling that similar incident occurred on January 9, 2025 at the Red Cross when a wire broke in an elevator, injuring four people: a newly discharged patient, his attendant, and two paramedics from a private ambulance.

According to 1ης Υγειονομικής Περιφέρειας: “The patients were examined by medical personnel, who determined that they had minor injuries and are under observation.”

Where can we expect the next emergency, and is there a guarantee that it will end with only “minor injuries”? The question is rhetorical.
