Recently, domestic social networks have been filled with videos and photographs from the Synevros Area Synest theme park, located in a picturesque mountainous Achaean village. This place is sure to be an ideal day trip into an idyllic natural landscape.
Just two hours drive from the capital separate us from the theme park that has captured the hearts of thousands of visitors recently.
History of the theme park name
The Synest Area Synevros theme park, founded in 2016, is a paradise on earth for both young and old. It offers visitors a unique experience of relaxation and spiritual uplift through genuine contact with nature, undisturbed by excessive human intervention.
The name of the park comes from the merger of the words “syn” (“Syn” από το Συνεβρό) and “nest” (from “Nest”, φωλιά), which reflects the creator’s love for birds, which inspired him to create this place. Travelers who arrive here for the first time are amazed by the vast expanses of the park.
Wearing comfortable shoes, you should walk around its territory, stopping not only to rest, but also to enjoy its natural beauty.
One of the many surprises awaiting visitors is a homemade bird's nest, located on an old plane tree and made according to the size of a person: you can go inside it. A large and comfortable sofa gives guests a feeling of complete relaxation, allowing them to enjoy the magic of the moment.
As you progress, you'll discover wonderful handcrafted designs that will impress both adults and children. They offer countless Instagrammable natural spots that could very well be the perfect backdrop for your next profile photo.
Glass greenhouses Area Synest
The center of attention is the Area Synest glass greenhouses, which are completely different from ordinary ones. There, the visitor will not only see flowers growing, but will also be able to admire impressive creations and compositions that “bloom” depending on the season. During the Christmas holidays, they looked like Santa Claus's little houses.
Outdoor play areas
If you're looking for some family fun, there are playgrounds throughout the park. They make a great place for your kids to play outdoors.
Folklore Museum
Before you leave, don't forget to check out the Folklore Museum. Here you will find interesting collections of traditional costumes, household items and professional utensils from another era, placed in a seemingly natural environment.
Nature, nature and more nature
The area of Sinest is crossed by the Krios River, offering visitors the opportunity to stroll along its banks. The route is full of natural beauty and lush vegetation, accompanied by the soothing sound of endlessly flowing water. In summer, swimming in the cool waters of the river becomes a must, so don't forget to bring a swimsuit, because you will definitely be the envy of those who dive.
The park has beautiful ponds, where you can watch ducks, swans, huge carp and goldfish. Nearby you'll also see a traditional watermill that rotates continuously, allowing you to take another photo that looks like it came straight out of the pages of an illustrated travel magazine. In addition, you will find two beautiful animal villages in the park.
First, there's the bunny village, where our big-eared friends live in a huge building along with gorgeous peacocks. Very close by is a “chicken village”, whose enclosures are often filled with chickens from China, Japan and Belgium. The bright and varied colors and different sizes, especially the beaks, fascinate any visitor who has the opportunity to observe them in their natural habitat.
In the center of the park there are several dovecotes, as well as many parrots in large cages, forming a colorful mosaic.
Finally, we would like to introduce you charming Menios – a donkey who lives in a cozy stable. He happily allows himself to be petted by both children and adults.
Where to eat to continue your journey
In the building you will find a small cafe and a cozy dining room – one of the most beautiful you have ever seen in nature. Here you can enjoy Armenian delicacies to refute those friends who claim that khachapuri is the most delicious dish in the world.
If you love oriental cuisine, we recommend the Park Hotel restaurant, which serves a variety of traditional Greek and Armenian dishes. Here you will find dishes and desserts that will bring back fond memories of family Sunday dinners.
For the more daring and determined, we highly recommend visiting Angeliki's Tavern, located just a few steps from the park. Here you can enjoy delicious dishes such as kontosouvli noodles, well-done lamb chops, lamb burgers and amazing pumpkin pie. And all this at an affordable price – no more than 15-18 euros per person, including wine.
How much does a ticket cost?
The ticket price is 12 euros, and for children under 12 years of age, entry to the event area will cost 6 euros. If you're planning on staying overnight, it's worth noting that there are some great apartments in the area at affordable prices.
