US President-elect Donald Trump is not going to stop the flow of American military aid to Ukraine, but he does not yet know how to stop the war.
In the material of the British newspaper FT, the authors refer on information from European officials. Two European officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that judging by the content of negotiations with the Trump team, it has not yet decided how exactly to stop the war, but after Trump’s inauguration on January 20, US assistance to Ukraine will continue:
“This whole team is obsessed with the idea of strength and the need to look strong, so they are retooling their approach to Ukraine.”
Trump said earlier this week that he expects to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine within six months, although during the election campaign he said he would stop the war “within 24 hours” once he was elected president.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the publication writes, after meeting with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago residence, assured reporters that the United States will not stop providing assistance to Ukraine:
“I don’t predict the US leaving. Trump will probably move towards a peaceful solution, but I don’t think that means he will abandon Ukraine.”

“President Putin wants us to meet, he even said it publicly, and we need to end this war (in Ukraine), which is a real nightmare.”
