In the Athens reservoir, during the blessing of the waters in the presence of the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the Mayor of Athens Charis Doukas, the cross unexpectedly fell into the water and… was lost.
It took at least 20-30 minutes and a lot of effort to use poles to locate and pull out the cross, which was not tied to the priest’s hand.
