Seven facts about Greece's national decline

A few hours ago, the citizens of Greece, like the rest of the planet's inhabitants, met 2025and everyone, of course, hopes for peace and prosperity.

Unfortunately this will not happen, so let's leave wishes and face the facts, especially in Greece.

In Greece, which entered a phase of historical declinecomparable to the decades before the ancient Greek world became a Roman province in 146 BC and years before the fall of Constantinople in 1453 AD

Unfortunately, it is decisive at all levels (demographic, economic and geopolitical) Asia Minor disaster (Μικρασιατική Καταστροφή) 1922, 102 years later, turned out to be “insurmountable” for the Greeks: after 2500 years of presence, the historical centers of the Hellenes in the East were lost.

This was followed by the destruction of the Greek Orthodox element that survived in the Ottoman Empire, in Syria, Lebanon And Iraq – no longer from the Turks, but from Arab Islamic nationalism, which was supported by the British and French to facilitate their victory in First World War and the reduction of the Ottoman state.

After World War II Greece, although it ended up in the camp of the winners and paid with hundreds of thousands of lives of citizens and military personnel, as well as the destruction of infrastructure in 30%was still rewarded with only a few islands – Dodecanese (Δωδεκάνησα).

Not Northern EpirusNot Cypruswhich were obvious promises and – rightly – promised territories. The allies turned out to be “allies” when the time came for division.

Bloody civil war (1946-1949) and its unknown outcome became an excellent excuse for the Anglo-Americans not to return the lands with the Greek population to the national body at the Paris Conference in 1947.

Then followed pogrom 1955 year that destroyed the Greeks in Istanbul, the 1974 invasion of Cyprus and the loss of the northern part with the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of Greek Cypriots, and the economic disaster of 2010 with memoranda and gaining control over the country's finances and therefore over all social and national levels.

The last “revolt” of the Greeks in 2015 was betrayed from within (as always happens in Greece) by those who pretended to liberate the country from foreign oppression (A. Tsipras ), and this was followed by the transfer of Macedonia (language and national identity) to the Slavic and Albanian entities in Skopje.

For those who do not understand this and are counting on the restoration of the national economy, we note that in 2115 the contract for the transfer of income from the exploitation of state property to foreign creditors expires, and the memorandums will finally come to an end. Revenues from the exploitation of state property amount to 3.8% of GDP, so don't count on growth until then.

“All this is known and accepted. What are we going to do now?” – someone will ask. There is a country called “Hellas” with a huge global national presence.

The question “what to do now” will simultaneously answer whether we will continue our historical trajectory or become HittitesWithKifov or aSyrianspeoples who have disappeared over the centuries. For now, these facts are very concrete:

  1. Demographically we are on the verge of collapse: as in 146 BCand in 1453 AD This is a people who are losing their roots faster than all other peoples of Christian Europe. When this event prompted two posts by the world's most powerful private citizen Elon Muskwe understand the seriousness of the decline.
  2. Economically we are experiencing 15th year decline in GDP compared to 2009. This is impossible even for an economy during a war.
  3. Over these 15 years, more than 1 trillion euros. Türkiye, which was supposed to be suffering from a constant economic crisis, has a GDP less than Greece's 2008now has five times the GDP growth of Greece, and its population has greater purchasing power.
  4. There is a constant outflow of labor from Greece in the most productive age groups (25-34 years), and only a few of them will return. Even young people of Albanian origin born in Greece leave immediately after receiving Greek citizenship! This aggravates and perpetuates the destruction of pension funds.
  5. The purchasing power of the average Greek is lower than that of the average Bulgarian.
  6. The country, in addition to political managers, is ruled by an economic oligarchy that controls the media and acts as an agent for foreign creditors. However they received 94%(!) resources from the Recovery Fund, which Greece is supposed to have “received”, while in fact only 6% the country's economic elite.
  7. Pension funds (meaning creditors) will probably, when they collapse again, steal the money of the insured, as happened in the memos: no fund can endlessly support a body of pensioners that will soon exceed the number of economically active citizens.

After all this, urgent questions begin to arise about the correctness of the choice to join UES (ΕΟΚ), Later EU (ΕΕ)). Not because “others are to blame,” but because we were unable to adapt to what she wanted European Commissionperhaps because this adaptation does not correspond to the Greek national character.

In the very difficult years that lie ahead (and contrary to what was claimed K. Mitsotakisthat “difficult times are behind” – a politician can say anything, without cost), it is important to show strength and be Greek in spirit, that is, fighters.

Perhaps someday historical conditions will change, and there will come national resurrection. Until then – resistance with mind and soul, and faith in God.
