Suspected of damaging an offshore power cable between Finland and Estonia, as well as four communications cables, the Eagle S tanker was confiscated and escorted to the port of Kilpilahti in the Finnish city of Porvoo.
He arrived at the inland anchorage of Swartbeek at about 16:00 on Saturday 28 December. The move comes after the Central Criminal Police seized a tanker linked to Russia's shadow fleet.
A technical investigation will be carried out on the ship to determine whether the ship caused the damage to the electrical cable between Finland and Estonia, reports Yle edition December 28. The police said that the new location of the tanker is more suitable for carrying out investigative activities on it.
