A Jeju Air passenger plane carrying 176 passengers and 6 crew members crashed while landing in southwest South Korea.
The tragic incident occurred at Muan International Airport. The plane skidded off the runway and crashed into a fence before exploding.
By message Yonhap, the plane crash occurred at 9:07 a.m. local time. The plane, flying from Bangkok, crashed while landing at Muan Airport, located in South Jeolla province, 288 kilometers from Seoul.
According to local media reports, 179 people were killed in the crash, only two survived.
According to preliminary information, the cause was a collision with birds. They hit the engine, after which the side of the landing gear was damaged, and they did not open during landing.
