But all this movement is rather pre-holiday – the streets of the capital are empty on Christmas Day: hundreds of thousands of Athenians leave the city to gather with the whole family in the cozy atmosphere of their parents' home in the countryside. From December 20 to the morning of December 25, a total of 397,240 vehicles left Attica. In particular, 200,895 cars left in the direction of Athens-Corinth, and 196,345 in Athens-Lamia.
