According to the December MRB Trends poll, more than half of the citizens surveyed want the next president of the republic to have no affiliation with political parties.
To the question only 32.1% about the desired qualities of a president respondents chose the option “comes from the political sphere,” while 51.4% would prefer the new president to be from another sphere, such as academic or technocratic.
Even more surprising is the fact that almost every second survey participant (46%) said the next president should have “no political orientation.” Only 21.7% of respondents believe that the new president should be center-left, and 20.9% should be center-right.
At the same time, 59.2% of respondents consider it necessary to elect new person to the highest post of the country, while only 23.5% would prefer re-election of Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
