Chocolate sweets are a weakness for many, and luckily for us, we can find plenty of recipes to make them at home, such as the delicious Kariokes.
This is one of the sweets that Greeks bring as a treat when they come to a holiday or birthday. The chocolatey texture and flavor, along with the crunchy nuts at the heart of each bite, make Kariokes amazing! This delicious dessert is very easy to prepare, so you can easily prepare it in your kitchen. All you need are three ingredients: chocolate, caramelized sweetened milk (condensed milk) and nuts (chestnuts).
Kariokes recipe
You will need:
200 grams of chocolate (couverture)
150 grams of condensed milk
100 grams chopped hazelnuts, walnuts or chestnuts.
Execution
Melt the chocolate in a water bath and after it melts, mix all the ingredients. Wrap in a roll of parchment paper and refrigerate for three hours.
Cut into slices and enjoy. If we want, we can dip the kariokes in melted chocolate (couverture). You can also add candied fruits to taste – for example, orange peels.
