An incredible incident occurred in Athens: a bank client received counterfeit 20 euros from an ATM. Or maybe quite probable?
The client turned out to be journalist Dimitris Lappas, who, having received the money, headed to the bakery. However, an employee of the establishment “stunned” him, informing him that the 20 euro banknote was counterfeit.
First of all, writes newsbeast.gr, the journalist contacted the bank, where he was assured that this was impossible, since the banknotes were checked. Deciding not to give up, the man went to the Bank of Greece. And this is where the fun begins.
A bank employee told him that ATMs sometimes give out counterfeit bills, and he… was lucky that the banknote did not have a higher value.
