Immediately after the historical events in Syria on weekends and low hours Assad Greece has decided to freeze decisions on asylum requests filed by Syrian refugees.

Earlier on Monday, government speaker Pavlos Marinakis stated at the daily briefing that the competent services are on standby and mentioned those Syrian refugees who now want to return to their homeland after recent events.
“The return to democratic normality gives us cautious optimism and anticipation of the possible return of many refugees, people who suffered due to the situation in Syria. Let the way be open for the smooth return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.” – the speaker emphasized. He expressed optimism that Athens is not worried about new flows of refugees.
“In addition to our expectation of the safe return of refugees to Syria, it is clear that Greece has a reception mechanism with much fewer structures, but much safer. It continues to follow strict but fair immigration policies. There doesn't seem to be any cause for concern, our expectation is that the opposite will happen.”he noted.
