According to the information, a lot of time was lost, and litigation that arose both during seismic surveys and with complaints about exploratory drilling led to significant delays that put the project behind schedule.

Transfer of the “site” Ioannina from the Greek state company ended a few weeks ago, in November, and the company took no action to request an extension. This fact in itself puts an end to the exploratory drilling project, which was to take place in Giurganice municipality Zitsas.

Previous extensions granted to the company were hit by bureaucratic hurdles, as seismic complaints alone took about two and a half years to resolve. After filing a complaint with Council of State Power for exploratory drilling, the company “froze” the project and is now finally abandoning it.
