In 2024, the European Union increased purchases of products based on Russian oil from three Indian oil refineries.
Politico reports this, citing a report from the Center for the Study of Democracy:
“From January to August EU purchased fuel costing almost 20% more than in 2023 from three large Indian refineries operating on Russian crude oil.”
Edition BB.LV notesthat it is impossible to determine the exact value of Russian fuel sold to the European Union. At the same time, the income of three enterprises in India amounted to $5.4 billion from the sale of 6.7 million tons of oil to European countries.
