A tragic incident occurred on the morning of Saturday November 30 in Agios Anargyros – a woman was hit by a train and died.
According to Hellenic Train, this happened early in the morning. The woman violated the rules for crossing a railway crossing and was swept away by a train traveling along the Piraeus-Aerodrome route (1202), on the section between Athens and Agia Anargyri.
Routes have been temporarily delayed and cancelled, writes newsbeast.gr, they are now completely restored. Hellenic Train expresses its sincere condolences to the relatives of the deceased.
In his statement Hellenic Train Company expressed regret over the tragic incident: “Hellenic Train expresses its deepest sorrow at the tragic incident that occurred early this morning when a woman trespassed at a level crossing and was swept away by a train traveling on the Piraeus-Airport route (1202) between Athens and Agii Anargyri. The accident had tragic consequences: the woman died. The company expresses its sincere condolences to her relatives. The routes were temporarily disrupted, there were delays and cancellations, but have now been fully restored“
