Why Yuzhmash was not destroyed by Oreshnik (video)

In the days following the Oreshnik strike on the Yuzhmash plant in Dnepr, reports have been received from the Russian military, many of which boil down to the fact that the flight went “abnormally”, with a number of technical problems arising, the media write.

Despite statements by the Russian Federation that the missile carried a high-explosive charge, this information has so far been refuted by Russian sources in the Ministry of Defense and has not been confirmed satellite images from the point of impact. There is no visible destruction at the enterprise, except for traces of fires after the fall of the rocket modules. Stories that a powerful rocket caused damage at a depth of 10 meters are also not confirmed.

According to senior Russian officers, the missile carried no explosives at all, but instead was loaded with weights to compensate for the weight. They did not use explosives not for reasons of humanity, but because there was a risk that the missile would go off its intended trajectory. It’s impossible to verify this information, but that’s exactly what it’s about. told journalists of the telegram channel “Volya” have several sources at once.

In addition, parts of the rocket were found at the site of the impact that should not have been there, that is, the separation of the warheads did not proceed as intended by the design. It has not yet been possible to find out which missile the President of the Russian Federation called “Oreshnik”, but this is almost certainly not a new development, but one of the old Soviet projects or a Russian one, begun in the 90s or 2000s.

Massive attacks with such missiles, according to the Russian military, are not yet possible. The launch on the Dnieper was a single launch and was apparently explained by the president’s personal demand to carry out a missile strike.

About the features of the experimental rocket that flew along the Dnieper on November 21, told and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
