French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrault said that Paris allowed Kyiv to fire French missiles at Russia and did not rule out sending the French military to Ukraine.
He said this in an interview with the BBC news service and added that long-range missile strikes against Russia could be carried out “in the logic of self-defense” of Kyiv.
Barrault did not confirm that Paris's military assistance had already been used, noting:
“The principle has been established… our messages to President Zelensky were well received.”
He also did not rule out sending French troops to Ukraine and expressed his readiness to invite Ukraine to NATO:
“We are not ruling out any option. We are prepared to offer an invitation, and so in our discussions with friends and allies, and with Ukraine's friends and allies, we are working to bring them closer to our positions.”
