A cartoon on the Ellada24 website perfectly illustrates what is happening in SYRIZA – in the center is the laughing former party leader Alexis Tsipras, who brought the “radical left” to the finale.
On the right are the banners of the four parties created by the former Syrians, Kasselakis with dumbbells, his dog Farley. On the left are four candidates for the chairmanship of SYRIZA and one of the main party functionaries in shackles with a heavy cast-iron ball with the numbers “13-0”. Shackles limit Pappas' options.
The current government held a “special trial” for Pappas, and 13 “judges” unanimously found him guilty of violating his ministerial duties and obligations to uphold the constitution and law. Because Nikos Pappas tried to restore order in the media and introduce licensing for television broadcasting.
The Supreme Administrative Court overturned the results of the tender, declaring the television licensing law unconstitutional. And then the new authorities and media tycoons staged a trial in retaliation. This is how TV channels broadcast without licenses.
On November 21, the Athens News reported that party SYRIZA lost its status as the “main opposition party”becoming the second largest after two deputies resigned on Thursday morning, and the party now has 29 places in parliament.
