German conservatives want to repeal fast-track citizenship law


At the disposal of the newspaper BILD secret document of the conservative bloc leaked CDU/CSU. This is a list of ten laws passed the current “traffic light” coalition from SPD, “Green” And FDP in recent years.

The Conservatives want to abolish them if they come to power after the elections. Bundestag V February 2025. The list for review included, among others:

  • Civil unemployment benefit (Bürgergeld), which is now 563 euros.
  • Abandoning nuclear power.
  • Fast-track granting of German citizenship already in 3-5 years residence with the possibility of maintaining dual citizenship.
  • Legalization of cannabis.
  • Law on self-determination in matters of gender identity.
  • Rules promoting illegal migration to Germany.

The list is still being finalized. The problem is that, according to surveys, CDU/CSU may get a little more in the elections 30%. For most in Bundestag they will need to enter into a coalition with another party. Conservatives rule out cooperation with the far right “An alternative for Germany”. Therefore this will be one of the parties current “traffic light” coalition. Most likely partner CDU/CSU will not want to revise the norms that were adopted earlier.
