A Greek consumer found a dead mouse in a package of frozen spinach he bought from a supermarket in August.
A shopper was upset when he saw a dead rodent in a package of spinach he bought from a well-known Greek company at a supermarket. He filed a complaint with the Hellenic Food Authority (EFET), as well as food safety websites. According to him, he was shocked to find half a frozen mouse among the lumps of frozen vegetable leaves. He took a piece of paper and took the mouse out of the spinach to make sure his eyes weren't deceiving him.

The consumer decided to file a complaint after being unable to find a solution with the company's managers. “Over the summer, I bought a package of a well-known brand of spinach, and when I opened it to cook, I found half a frozen mouse inside! I contacted the company, of course, they said that this was not our mouse, they found it somewhere, someone planted it. I had to file a complaint with EFET,” he added.
He stressed that he has been waiting for a response from EFET since August in order to go to court. This brand is sold in many supermarkets throughout Greece.
