By the end of 2024, self-employed professionals, farmers and the self-employed will be able to use the systems IRIS and Online DIAS for payment employer contributions and debt repayment.
This means that in a system where insurance premiums are paid or arrears are paid in installments provision of insurance information and insurance capacity will be carried out almost immediately after payment of the debt.
It should be noted that already on November 4, new methods of paying employer contributions and debts were activated through the IRIS and Online ΔΙΑΣ systems. Thanks to these new services citizens will not have to wait for banks to process paymentswhich previously took several days.
Immediate payment via IRIS
Payment of debts through IRIS ensures immediate crediting of debts, without the 1-4 day delay that applies when the payment is made directly in the bank's Internet banking system and then informed by EFKA. This means that those who require immediate repayment of debt for reasons such as issuing insurance information or paying off agreements will be able to issue relevant receipts immediately when paying through IRIS.
Informing the debtor
The debtor included in the Κ.Ε.Α.Ο. is sent “Individual notice of overdue debt”, in which it is reported that his debt has been transferred to Κ.Ε.Α.Ο., and if within 20 days he does not respond with repayment or settlement, then the process of forced collection will be initiated.
To those debtors who are registered users of Κ.Ε.Α.Ο. services, invitations and individual notifications are sent electronically via e-services and are available on the e-Ε.Φ.Κ.Α. website.
Notices may also be sent by registered mail (according to Article 3 of Law 4321/2015, notices sent by registered mail are deemed to have been notified after 15 days from the date of mailing).
