The Pentagon clarified how much money is left to help Ukraine

The US Department of Defense still has 9.3 billion left to support Ukraine; the Pentagon has assured that these funds will be used before the transfer of power to the newly elected President Donald Trump.

The amount intended to provide military assistance to Ukraine, which is waging a defensive war against the Russian Federation, was announced during briefing on Tuesday by US Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, a US Department of Defense spokesman. He emphasized that The United States is using all available means to help Ukraine before the new president's team takes over the country.

More than $7 billion remains under the Presidential Drawdown Authority program (4.3 approved by Congress in April and 2.8 that became available after recounts), and about 2.2 billion more are available under the USAI (Ukrainian Security Assistance Initiative) program, Voice of America correspondent Ostap Yarish wrote on the social network X.

According to Ryder, from April to mid-October, the United States delivered 83% of the promised ammunition, 67% of air defense equipment and 60% of other weapons to Ukraine.

“On November 1, the Pentagon announced the allocation to Kyiv of the next, 69th tranche of military assistance provided from the arsenals of the US Department of Defense to Ukraine since August 2021,” the message said, clarifying that its volume is estimated at $425 million. “This will give Ukraine access to weapons that it desperately needs. In particular, we are talking about air defense missiles, ammunition for cannon artillery and MLRS, and armored vehicles and anti-tank weapons.”

The message was not about new purchases, but about the transfer of those weapons that are stored in arsenals in the United States. The assistance package included, among other things, missiles for NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems, missiles for Stinger man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems, ammunition for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, AT-4 anti-tank grenade launchers, Javelin anti-tank missile systems (ATGM), missiles for TOW anti-tank missile systems.

It is worth noting that further military support for Ukraine is questionable. On November 10, Donald Trump Jr. spoke about cutting funding to Ukraine as part of military support for Kyiv and posted a video on Instagram in which he wrote: “POV (Point of view, imagine): in 38 days you will lose your benefits.”

The video was based on a video published by former US vice-presidential candidate from the Republican Party Sarah Palin. The recording shows Donald Trump standing next to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. The camera zooms in on Zelensky's gloomy face, the frame turns black and white, dollar bills begin to fall from above, and then Trump Jr.'s inscription appears.

We previously reported that newly elected US President Donald Trump announced the appointment of Fox News host Pete Hegseth as US Secretary of Defense. Members and supporters of the US Democratic Party, veterans and military lobbyists are shocked by this decision.
