Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the Valdai Club, expressed the opinion that “Greece should at some point think about returning to the drachma, or at least to a national currency, in order to be able to develop and not leave these efforts on the shoulders of the people.”
The Russian President said no more and no less what the German Finance Minister (now deceased) is increasingly saying and has said V. Schäuble: “U countries must have a national currency and the ability to finance growth, as well as the ability to print as much money as they need.”

Putin emphasizes: “At one time, Greece made different decisions, re-subjected itself to regulation with the help of a single currency and economic decisions in Brussels. This is not our business, this is the sovereign choice of the Greek state. It is difficult for me to say what to do now in these conditions».
But he continues: “Probably at some point, having the drachma, a national currency, would be advisable, because it would be possible, at least with the help of inflation, to somehow regulate social processes, get rid of social tension, not shift everything onto the shoulders of the population, all the difficulties associated with economic development.
Many of today's economies, for a variety of reasons, due to their obligations within the framework of economic unions, military-political alliances, have voluntarily renounced part of their sovereignty and are not able to make decisions either in the field of economics or in the field of ensuring their security. This is the sovereign choice of each state on how to build its economic policy. China has found these opportunities. Do you know why he succeeded? “Including, and not least, because China is a sovereign state.”
Leaving the euro and choosing in favor of the national currency will, of course, cause inflation, but in these conditions it will be more of a benefit than what the national economy is currently experiencing:
- After 14.5 years of the memorandum, its GDP is lower (!) than in 2009
- economic recession caused demographic decline and out-migration
- income from the operation of state assets is used to repay interest and principal on loans until 2115 under the third memorandum;
- all countries EUincluding Bulgaria, have surpassed Greece in purchasing power.
The country will never grow, since the continued decline in population will lead to a reduction in the productive forces and an increase in the number of pensioners, who, of course, are now on the verge of starvation.
According to Vladimir Putin, the decision to leave the euro for Greece will inevitably come at some point…
