Russian President Vladimir Putin announced dramatic changes in the world order, speaking at the plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club on November 7, 2024.
According to Putin, humanity is witnessing the formation of a completely new world order. He noted: “Before our eyes, a completely new world order is being formed, not similar to what we know from the past, for example, the Westphalian or Yalta system. New powers are rising.” The Russian leader emphasized that the old world order is irrevocably leaving.
Putin also noted that new powers are aware of their values and are demanding conditions for their own development, calling for justice on the world stage. He previously pointed out that forces accustomed to dominance are slowing down the transition to a multipolar world using unhealthy methods that undermine global stability. He named sanctions practices of Western countries as one of these methods.

The Russian President added that the world needs Russia, and no decisions made in Washington or Brussels can change this. He emphasized that attempts to isolate the Russian Federation from the rest of the world only lead to tragedies.
At the same time, Putin warned the West against actions based on the belief in its own impunity, noting that this could lead to a global tragedy. He also emphasized that Russia does not seek to restructure the world order, which occurs naturally, and it does not influence these changes, does not seek changes on the global stage.
