Knife fight in Glyfada: four injured in hospital, 8 people arrested (video)

On Tuesday 29 October in the afternoon, at approximately 16:00, a bloody showdown between nine participants took place in Glyfada.

As a result, a 24-year-old man was taken to Laiko Hospital with a stab wound to the abdomen. Three more beating victims were taken to CAT and one to a private hospital, writes CNN Greece.

Five wounded and eight arrested – these are the results of a fierce fight at the intersection of Gennimata and Gunari streets. According to information, fan motives between the two groups are behind the fight. According to other information that emerged later, disagreements arose between members of a family living in the house opposite the hairdresser at 12 Gennimata Street over the commotion they said they caused in the hairdresser. The investigation is ongoing.

It is noteworthy that the man injured by the knife was a fugitive from justice in an explosives case. He faces a 54-month prison sentence for violating the Weapons Act and possessing explosives. His name also appeared in the murder of MAT police officer Giorgos Liggeridis. He underwent surgery and will be arrested after undergoing treatment.

The injured, taken to the CAT and private hospital, are under guard.
