Vassilis Panagiotaropoulos, a student from Secondary School 3, became the oldest flag bearer, representing his school in the parade on October 28th.
An 80-year-old man who recently retired decided to continue studying at the 2nd Evening High School of Athens. Today he is in the 3rd grade of high school and is oldest standard bearer in Greece.
“Family needs did not allow me to go to school at that time, and I decided to do so after retirement. Returning to your desk is very pleasant. True, I have some difficulties with ancient languages“,” an elderly student shared with reporters from the ANT1 channel.
“He is a true example for all of us, especially for young people. This is a message for the younger generation that they need to set goals in life and achieve them at any age. It's never too late to dream, and we must make every effort to achieve what we want.“,” noted one of the standard bearer’s friends who came with him to the parade.
