The video shows a barefoot Gaza girl carrying her sister, injured in a car accident, on her back as she seeks medical attention.
In the heartbreaking video, the girl said: “I want her leg to heal, but I’m walking because we don’t have a car.”.
“I can't go anymore”“, the girl continues, and photojournalist Alaa Hamuda, who captured part of the girls’ difficult journey, decided to help them by taking them to the Bureij refugee camp.
Below is a video uploaded by a photojournalist and a translation provided by Al Jazeera:
Reporter: How are you?
Girl: I'm fine.
Reporter: Why are you carrying your little sister?
Girl: She injured her leg in a car accident.
Reporter: Where are you taking her?
Girl: I'm going to our barn [палатку].
Reporter: Are you tired of carrying it??
Girl: [кивает утвердительно]. I'm very tired. I've been carrying her for an hour and I can't walk anymore.
Reporter: Where are you going?
Girl: Bureij refugee camp.
Reporter: Burage.
Girl: Yes.
Reporter: Come on, I'll take you there – sit down. I'll take you… [обращается к раненой девушке]: Do you love your sister? She carries you.
Sister: [кивает в знак согласия].
