Gerasimos-Iasons, the sole survivor of the Tempi train accident, plans to return to Greece in the coming weeks.
According to TheNewspaper.gr, the 22-year-old student underwent a rehabilitation course at a specialized center in Boston. In November 2023, he was transported to the United States on a special flight, accompanied by medical personnel and his mother.
For almost a year, doctors in the United States have been trying to revive Gerasimos from the deep coma he has been in since February 28, 2023, when he was thrown from a carriage in a fatal train collision in Tempi.
Gerasimos' condition remains stable, but no doctor can say with certainty how it will develop. Therefore, the decision was made to transfer him back to Greece and continue his treatment at the rehabilitation center in Larisa. Here he will be provided with the necessary assistance and support using special equipment.
