Vladimir Zelensky presented his “victory plan” to the European Union

On Thursday, October 17, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky arrived in Brussels to present his “Victory Plan” to the European Union.

The day before, the document was made public in the Verkhovna Rada, this was its first detailed public presentation.

In his X account, the President of Ukraine wrote after the presentation of the plan in Brussels:

“Today I spoke at a meeting of the European Council with our strategy of forcing Russia to real diplomacy and emphasized that European unity is also a weapon that ensures the security not only of Ukraine, but of all European countries.”

Brussels was the site of the third presentation of the “victory plan” after Washington and Kyiv. It includes five points that Zelensky repeated in his speech in Brussels, emphasizing the benefits it brings to Europe. The implementation of the plan, Zelensky believes, will make it possible to end the war with Russia in 2025. Ukraine will be able to emerge from it “with muscles” and subsequently become an important source of natural and human resources for Europe, tells Air Force.

For this, Kyiv needs, among other things, an immediate invitation to become a NATO member, permission to use Western weapons for long-range strikes against Russia, the deployment of a “package of deterrence measures” on Ukrainian territory.

The Western press was skeptical and quite critical of the program of “achieving a just world,” as Zelensky characterized it, since it follows that the implementation of Ukraine’s “victory plan” in the war depends more on the actions of NATO, the United States and other partners, and not on Kyiv itself .

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that he held a closed conversation with allies about the details of the victory plan; most partners fully support this document. At a press conference in Brussels he said, quotes Interfax-Ukraine:

“I'm very grateful that I had a private part of the conversation with the allies. And after our very frank conversation… the majority of those who spoke were completely on the side of supporting the victory plan. I'm glad that they heard some of the details from me. I'm glad, that our teams will continue to work.”

But even if the “victory plan” does not find full support in the West, which, according to Zelensky, will be a “big mistake”, Ukraine will continue fight, but it will be very difficult for her, the Ukrainian president concluded.
