Al-Arabiya TV channel, citing sources, reported the death of Hashem Safieddin, the successor of the previously killed head of Hezbollah, as a result of an Israeli airstrike on Beirut on the night of October 4.
According to information agencies Reuters and Arabic-language news TV channelthere has been no contact with Safieddin since Friday, October 4, and the search for the new Hezbollah leader at the hideout site is not allowing for ongoing IDF strikes on the Lebanese capital.
Lebanese Security Representative stated Sky News Arabia that the chances of anyone surviving the Israeli strike are virtually zero. It was previously reported that a meeting of senior Hezbollah members was taking place in the shelter at the time of the strike.
Meanwhile, today the media report that Israeli fighter jets on Sunday, October 6, struck the intelligence headquarters of the Shiite radical terrorist group Hezbollah in Beirut. The Israel Defense Forces reported this on the Telegram channel.
In addition, Israel attacked Hezbollah weapons depots in the suburbs of Beirut. The IDF statement said:
“After the strikes, secondary explosions were recorded, indicating the presence of weapons. The terrorist organization Hezbollah deliberately placed its command centers and weapons under residential buildings in the heart of Beirut, endangering the population.”
Israel also carried out strikes against Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley. The IDF said it hit weapons depots and infrastructure, including a command center and a rocket launcher.
